Body ONDA
qd body onda lifting
Body ONDA uses Coolwaves microwaves to address localized fat, cellulite appearance and skin laxity in areas such as the upper arms, thighs, abdomen and flanks. It delivers 2.45 GHz energy to target tissue; the handpiece and treatment area depend on skin and fat thickness. Treatment time, recovery and degree of change vary.
Body ONDA is available at QD Clinic in Gangnam, Seoul, Korea.

is this for me
Who it’s for
Even if none of these describes you, we will look again at the consultation.
- Localized fat on the arms, thighs, abdomen, love handles or bra line
- The appearance of cellulite alongside mild skin laxity
- People who want firmness and contour without surgery
- Anyone who prefers a non-invasive body option with little downtime
ONDA addresses localized areas over a course; it is not a weight-loss treatment and does not replace surgery for larger volumes. Suitability is confirmed at consultation.
start with your concern
Before you pick a treatment name, start with the cause of your concern.
Even a treatment with the same name takes on a different role and scope depending on your current structure, the change you want, what you have had before and the recovery time you have.
Where you are now, and where we start
Localized fat and elasticity on the upper arms, thighs, abdomen, love handles and bra line
The change you want, the impression you keep
ONDA addresses localized areas over a course; it is not a weight-loss treatment and does not replace surgery for larger volumes. Suitability is confirmed at consultation.
How it differs from similar options
On the body, several energy treatments address different things — skin firmness versus fat. They are not interchangeable, and the right choice depends on your goal.
Health information and recovery schedule
Little to no downtime; most people return to daily activities the same day. Temporary redness, warmth or mild tenderness in the treated area may occur. Use sun protection on exposed areas and follow the aftercare guidance we provide.
the principle
How it works
We separate the target areas for Coolwaves microwave energy according to fat distribution and skin elasticity, and design the plan so that too much volume is not lost.
ONDA delivers 2.45 GHz Coolwaves energy through dedicated handpieces to subcutaneous fat and surrounding connective tissue. Different handpiece depths help distinguish treatment of localized fat from concerns about skin laxity or cellulite appearance. Contact cooling helps limit surface overheating; settings and suitability are determined after assessment.

How it works
Coolwaves directed to the target layer
ONDA delivers 2.45 GHz Coolwaves energy through dedicated handpieces to subcutaneous fat and surrounding connective tissue. Different handpiece depths help distinguish treatment of localized fat from concerns about skin laxity or cellulite appearance. Contact cooling helps limit surface overheating; settings and suitability are determined after assessment.
Drawn to water-rich tissue
Microwaves at this frequency are preferentially absorbed by water-rich tissue, so on the body the energy can warm subcutaneous fat while also warming the dermis.
Fat, cellulite and skin
The same warmth is used to address localized fat, the appearance of cellulite and skin firmness, while integrated cooling protects the surface.
Gradual change over a course
ONDA is usually planned as a short course of sessions; the treated area may gradually reduce in fullness and feel firmer rather than change immediately.
the qd standard
The same treatment, never the same plan.
Rather than a fashionable name or a fixed package, we weigh the structure found at examination, safety, recovery and the limits within one plan.
- DIAGNOSIS FIRST
Cause before name
We first separate out the tissue and the function behind your concern.
- LESS, PRECISE
Only as much as needed
Rather than an excessive change, we plan the smallest scope with a clear role.
- HONEST LIMIT
The limits, explained too
We explain the change you can expect, the alternatives, individual differences and the risks.

what to expect
What to expect over time
A general guide to how the days and months after treatment usually unfold. Results vary by individual.
DAY 0
First session
Warmth during treatment across the body area, eased by the integrated cooling; afterwards mild redness, warmth or slight tenderness that usually settles within hours. Most people return to daily activities the same day.
DAY 1-3
Settling
Any redness, warmth or mild tenderness in the treated area generally eases. Normal activity and skincare can usually resume as advised.
BETWEEN SESSIONS
A gradual course
ONDA is usually a short course spaced as decided at consultation; change builds gradually from session to session rather than all at once.
2-3 MONTHS
Gradual change
Over the course, reduced fullness, firmer skin and a smoother look develop gradually for many people. This is typically when results are assessed. (Results vary by individual.)

how it compares
How it compares
On the body, several energy treatments address different things — skin firmness versus fat. They are not interchangeable, and the right choice depends on your goal.
| Body ONDA | Thermage FLX | Body Sofwave | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Energy | Microwave (Coolwaves, 2.45 GHz) | Monopolar radiofrequency | Ultrasound (SUPERB parallel beams) |
| Main action | Warms localized fat and firms the skin | Tightens skin and the look of cellulite | Firms skin in the mid-dermis |
| Often chosen for | Localized fat with mild laxity | Lax or crepey body skin | Crepey or lax body skin |
| Sensation | Warmth with integrated cooling | Warm heating cycles with cooling | Warmth with integrated cooling |

Neither is “better” — they work differently and suit different goals. The right choice is decided after we assess your skin.
before consultation
Before you decide, the questions people always ask
We most often work on the abdomen, the flanks, the thighs and the inner upper arms, the places where fat gathers and the skin has lost its firmness. ONDA works by drawing heat into fat tissue, so it suits areas like these better than places where only the skin has thinned and loosened. We measure the thickness of the tissue before deciding on the area and how far to treat.
ONDA is cleared by the US FDA for the improvement of cellulite. However, holding a clearance and everyone being satisfied with their result are two different things. The dimpling does not disappear completely, and it is more accurate to expect it to become less noticeable over a course of several sessions.
Doing both alongside the treatment helps the result. Even where a session has slimmed an area down, the fat cells that remain grow again once your intake goes up. We are not recommending drastic weight loss; it is simply better to keep your weight from swinging widely while the course is under way.
We do not treat during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Please also tell us in advance if there is any chance you may be pregnant. During your period swelling and pain can feel stronger than usual, so we sometimes move the appointment to another date. Let us know as well about any medication you are taking and any condition you have been diagnosed with.
It depends on how large the area is, but the body is far wider than the face, so even a single session takes time and we usually plan for several. We will go over the length of each session and the total number with you in consultation, once the thickness has been measured. We look at how the area is responding along the way and adjust the plan.
The words "one area" alone do not tell you the size or whether both sides are included. Check whether it is an area with two sides, such as the upper arms or thighs, whether the abdomen and flanks are counted separately, and how large an area is covered. It is best not to compare it with a facial treatment by energy, time or numbers alone.
Look at the examination and the plan rather than the treatment name. First, what the clinic checks before deciding — at QD Clinic in Gangnam, Seoul, the first thing we look at for this treatment is “Localized fat and elasticity on the upper arms, thighs, abdomen, love handles and bra line”. Second, whether it explains why it recommends that scope and method, compared with the alternatives. Third, whether it reviews your progress with you when results are expected. Our doctor goes through these three points at consultation before the treatment is decided.
