Skin Feeling Sensitive While Travelling in Korea? Gentle Care for Dryness, Redness and Rough Texture

تاريخ النشر: 2026-09-02

Caring for sensitive skin while travelling in Korea

Some people find that their skin suddenly behaves differently while they are travelling in Korea.

For example:

- Skin feels dry and rough

- Redness or a feeling of warmth

- Products you normally use without problems suddenly sting

- Makeup doesn't sit well

- Skin feels tight after cleansing

On a trip, your skin may be exposed to UV rays, heat, sweat, air conditioning, long flights, seawater or pool water, and frequent cleansing, often all at once.

If your skin becomes noticeably sensitive during your trip, it is more important to first check its current condition and choose relatively gentle care than to jump straight into an intensive treatment.

Q1. Why Does Skin Get Dry, Red and Sensitive While Travelling in Korea?

When you travel, your skin is in a different environment from usual.

Long hours in the sun, heat, sweat, air-conditioned rooms and the dry air inside a plane can all reduce the skin's moisture.

Add swimming, frequent sunscreen reapplication and repeated cleansing, and the skin may temporarily become drier and rougher, and more prone to redness or irritation.

At this point, it helps to check:

- Whether it is noticeably dry

- Whether there is redness or warmth

- Whether it stings easily

- Whether the texture has become rough

- Whether your usual products suddenly feel irritating

Q2. Why Not Go Straight for a More Intensive Treatment?

When your skin is not in its usual condition, it may not be the right time for a treatment that is harder on the skin.

What matters more is first judging how much stimulation your skin can currently handle.

If dryness, redness or sensitivity is clearly noticeable, you can start with hydration, soothing and skin conditioning, and then decide whether other treatments are needed based on how your skin responds.

Q3. What Gentle Skin Treatments Can Be Considered for Sensitive Skin on a Trip to Korea?

Depending on your skin condition on the day, different types of care can be considered.

* LDM

LDM uses ultrasound energy and can be used for overall skin conditioning.

If your skin becomes dry, sensitive or unsettled during your trip, LDM may be considered to help condition it, depending on its state.

* O2Derm

O2Derm combines oxygen care with LED and can be used as relatively gentle skin care.

It suits those whose skin looks tired or dry from travelling, or who want low-burden care.

* Sono

Sono uses ultrasound to help skincare ingredients penetrate, and can be used for hydration and skin conditioning.

If your main concerns are dryness, rough texture or a lack of moisture, it can be considered as supportive care.

* Cryo

Cryo is mainly a cooling treatment.

If your skin feels noticeably warm, red or sensitive during your trip, it can be used as supportive care depending on your skin condition.

Q4. What Is the Difference Between LDM and O2Derm?

They work in different ways.

LDM mainly uses ultrasound for skin conditioning,

while O2Derm is centered on oxygen and LED care.

Neither is simply "better"; it depends on what your skin's main problem is at the time.

If you feel dry, sensitive and tired-looking all at once during your trip, the more suitable option can be chosen based on your skin condition that day.

Q5. When Should Sono or Cryo Be Considered?

If your skin mainly feels dry, rough or lacking in moisture during your trip, Sono can be considered as part of hydrating care.

If the main problem is warmth, redness or sensitivity, Cryo can be considered for cooling.

There is no need to do many treatments at once; simply choose the care that best suits your skin on the day.

Q6. When Is the Best Time to Schedule Skin Care During a Trip to Korea?

If your stay in Korea is short, it is worth considering:

- Your departure date

- Photo shoots or important events

- Whether you have had other aesthetic treatments recently

- How sensitive your skin currently is

If your skin is already clearly dry, red or prone to stinging, relatively gentle care should come first, rather than rushing into a more intensive treatment.

Especially right after a long flight, a long day outdoors or swimming, your skin may not be in its usual state, so it is better to check how it is responding that day first.

At QD Clinic in Gangnam, Seoul, we choose the care that suits your skin's current condition — such as LDM, O2Derm, Sono or Cryo — based on dryness, redness, sensitivity, texture and warmth.
